Business Review

Owners and managers of small companies typically become consumed in day-to-day management of the company so that a time for reflection on the overall business is overlooked. A Business Review provides this business perspective and is the most helpful initial step in diagnosing the current health of your business. We view this two hour interview with the owner or manager of your company as a physical exam. We will ask questions to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of your enterprise which will then be presented to you in a professional report of findings and recommendations for your company.

A Business Review covers the following topics:

  • Board Management: This explores the management structure of your organization including board activity.
  • Company Organization: Since an Organizational Chart and Job Descriptions provide clarity in roles as well as clear lines of reporting, your answers to these questions will allow us to know how to help the company establish an Organizational Chart or improve on the current one.
  • Legal Compliance: As we discover the company’s current legal status we are able to offer advice on compliance or suggest better alternatives for establishment for your situation.
  • Employees: As we review legal compliance issues, compensation policies, benefits, and training programs we will be able to suggest ways to develop your team.
  • Customers: An understanding of your current customer base and acquisition process will allow us to suggest strategies to grow and mine these vital relationships. This section also includes a discussion on current marketing strategy.
  • Strategy: This section will explore what plans your company has for growth in the future and how well they are documented and implemented into a financial forecast for the next five years.
  • Financials: As we review sales, pricing strategies, cost of goods sold, seasonality, billing, and company liabilities, we will share with you practices for collections and documentation to provide trend information as well as cash flow, inventory, asset, debt, and equity structure management.
  • Budget & Financial Systems: Through the discovery of your current financial processes, budget utilization, and the level of separation between business and personal items we will suggest ways in which to increase the power of your decision-making with accurate, timely financials.

The report compiled following the review will include a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) Analysis, data-specific findings, best practices, and specific recommendations for areas to address in order to strengthen and grow your organization.
