Mr. Tracy is the Founder of The Legacy Companies and has 30+ years of experience in Senior and C-Suite Management of commercial development, construction and engineered products manufacturing firms. As the 23-year Chief Executive and founding partner of Legacy Telecommunications, Inc, Jim focused on creating a team vision for the people who execute projects in Legacy’s diverse areas of expertise. Jim has 24+ years of experience in tower and power line infrastructure construction, including managing multiple site and extremely remote projects.

Jim is an instrument rated Pilot with 2000+ hours of flight time in high performance, complex, multi-engine & jet aircraft. He is a frequent author and keynote speaker and lecturer on a select variety of topics. He hosts a weekly podcast; The Grampion. Jim is involved in the leadership of diverse and select organizations which include:

Relevant Experience

He has high tuition experience with civil and structural work and has led teams through difficult projects in hostile environments across North America, Hawaii, the Pacific Rim and Antarctica. He certified or qualified as a tower climber, welder, teacher, high performance jet pilot, snow cat operator, safety trainer, rigger, auctioneer, counselor and working dog handler.

He has been working on his credentials as a husband for 43 years and remains a work in progress. Jim and Sarah have five children, fourteen grandchildren and are both active in multiple firms co-founded with their family.

Jim consistently delivers disciplined presentations with tales that include humor, motivation and flair. Audiences have raved at his effectiveness in following their theme and energizing their audience.

Mr. Tracy has provided entrepreneurial leadership to a family start-up that culminated in the Private Equity acquisition and branding of Ontivity, LLC. He has been at the foundation level of multiple entities including non-profit and real estate holding firms. His contributions have been recognized by his peers in awarding him the Bill Carlson Lifetime Achievement Award and inducting him into the 2021 Class of the Wireless History Foundation’s prestigious Wireless Hall of Fame in Washington, DC. He currently serves as Executive Advisor to Ontivity and is active on multiple Boards.
